Oh how embarrassing. Republican Senator Coleman's father cited for lewd behavior for having sex in a car with a 38 year old woman. I guess this proves the adage that the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. Senator Coleman has been screwing the nation and the citizens of Minnesotta for years.
ARABESQUE: Darkness Falls on Beirut (tip to Alex)
Israel, which seems to have lost its moral compass altogether, has decided once again — despite the fact that this has never worked so far — that it will brutalize its opponents into submission, that it will exact ten-fold revenge for its losses. But even if Israel manages to destroy a lot of Hizbullah's weapons and even if some Lebanese blame the Islamist group for irresponsibly dragging the country into this mess, Hizbullah can't be eradicated this way. Killing Southern Lebanese civilians and bombing their homes won't diminish support for Hizbullah. Instead, Israel has probably managed to make itself as hated in Southern Lebanon as it is in the Occupied territories, widening the swath of loathing that surrounds it. But what does that matter, I suppose, when Israel and everyone else has entered an entirely uncompromising, military frame of reference. The Southern Lebanese — who supposedly hide Hizbullah's rockets under their beds — are clearly enemies, unredeemable.

Onegoodmove is one of the precious sites i visit everyday, a site far away from the madding crowd, from the brain-dead clueless spellers and hate-filled inarticulated morons that fill the web ether. So i can't believe you would run an item such as the one about "Republican Senator Coleman's father" caught having sex in a car with... hold on, a 38-year old woman: how disgusting. i understand you could not help such a cute comment like "Senator Coleman has been screwing the nation... for years". Oh ok then, let's pile on his father (81!), only fair you know, if he were a democrat, that would be different, no? i thought we were better, and onegoodmove too. i thought sex lives are none of our business. Was the car parked in front of an elementary school at recess when somebody snitched on them? F...g puritan sickos. i wish to be caught having sex in a car with a 38-year old spring chicken when i am 81. Will that be ok with you, since my dad is not a republican? i'll be reading you with the same pleasure tomorrow anyway, i really value your site. i'm disappointed though.
The Coleman story: You're right an individuals sex life is none of our business. Frankly I saw nothing wrong with his getting it on in a car. There were two reasons for posting it the cheap joke and the fact that Republicans are so puritanical about that sort of thing. I enjoy the discomfort the story causes them. I'm not really piling up on Dad, he's probably a Democrat, and I didn't find what he was doing offensive in the least. Don't get me wrong I'm not in favor of exhibitionist sex in public, but I don't think that was occurring here. You can please some of the readers all of the time and all of the readers some of the time, but you can't please all of the readers all of the time, with a thank you to Mr. Lincoln.
On the Think Progress article: I saw Patrick Michaels giving a talk at the Cato Institute back in 2000. At that time he was trying to debunk global warming by saying that the thermometers in Siberia are defective. Or else the measurements up there are being recorded by drunk Russians. I'm being serious.
