I love him....he just rules.
But why I'm here....
I cannot believe you didn't manage to snag that clip of Ann Coulter running away like the coward bitch she is from a PIE! That was classic. I've never laughed so hard in my life - except for when some guy wrote CNN calling Bush "Chimpy McFlightsuit"
Come....give us Ann at her finest!! I'll love you forever. I promise.
clip of Ann Coulter
I love Lewis Black and that was a great clip but that clip of that freak Ann Coulter made my day! Too bad the pies didn't find their target!
One of the most well-polished and tight Lewis Black acts I've seen. I'd love to see the longer version live.
Jesus. That's comedy? That's worse than Boxcar.
Lewis Black's entire act is reciting a laundry-list of liberal 'talking points', dancing around in a fake rage, and then saying 'come on!'. Makes me wish Dennis Miller would take his medication, or George Carlin stop taking his, so we can get some funny stand-up comedy again.
More than anything Black's act reminds of that episode of Cheers where Cliff wanted to be a stand-up. Topical subject followed by lame catch phrase.
Immigration! Am I right folks? I mean, what's up with that? (Wild applause). Cheney! Shooting a quail! What's up with that?! (Raucuous applause. Cheering). Gay marriage?!? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!?!? (Rioting, looting, etc).
I got to agree with Joe Dirt up there^. I mean, sure he's a quackjob like Ann Coulter at times, but he makes a good point.
Erick, you're agreeing with the neighborhood idiot instead of DendeBlogger who always expresses himself so intelligently? Are you feeling ok? I'm worried about you.
Joe, He's just going down Chimpies checklist. Mocking the desperate election year rhetoric that attempts to hold on to the legislative branch. Get the rightwing nut bags stirred into a froth.
Mexicans, gays, Flag burning. What's next Joe? I figure they're saving abortion until October or so.
Just so we're clear, I'm saying he sucks because he isn't funny, not because of the subject matter. You guys would make excellent Clay Aiken fans.
It's not like there's a dearth of good, intelligent comedy. Bountiful are the blessings recent generations have bequeathed to our country: paralyzing self-awareness, a sense of entitlement, the desperate need to be liked, and the capacity to recognize the grievous faults threatening our world and courageously give them a spirited mocking.
With so much selection, it's okay to be picky. You don't have to like everybody who recites your bumper sticker word-for-word. Some of them are lip-synching.
I heartily encourage demanding competence in our entertainment, as it seems evident that we'll eventually live in a society ruled entirely by celebrities. I, for one, welcome our unblemished, rail-thin overlords.
Average_Joe has argued in the past that torture in Gitmo is a good thing because there is no other way to get information from people. He recently spent a lot of time arguing against gay marriage. And now he's fighting the good fight against the horrible Lewis Black.
Avaerage_Joe, liberal talking points? It's hard to say that Black repeats liberal talking points when he has compared the Democrat party as the party of no ideas to the Republican party as the party of bad ideas.
Well, but c'mon kes. Like Stewart put it, "to have a Democratic strategist and a Republican strategist is not a debate, that's Coke and Pepsi discussing beverage supremacy." So you can still say the Democratic party is crap while still being liberal. While I think Average_Joe is a complete hick, with no offense to hicks, I agree that this 'comedy'--for lack of a better--word is just lame. I agree with Lewis Black on the issues, but to find him funny is another issue. He has his moments, lets just put it that way.
Thank you. I will love you forever. That was so priceless....love all the comments on that page.
You rock. ;-)

It's a common misconception to think that 'liberal' = 'Democrat'. Frankly I would say that Democrats are nothing but a party of reaction, minus the action. They only glom onto 'liberal' ideas when they really need some attention. But they believe very firmly in rigid control of the American people - look at how Hillary and Lieberman are cozying up to the pro-censorship movements plaguing the US.
It's interesting how you folks try to paint the Democrats as a 'party of the people' when they are really just Republicans with a different logo.
"So you can still say the Democratic party is crap while still being liberal."
You call me a 'hick' (and we all know how much intelligence it takes to name-call) ... yet you agree with me. I'd wager that if you bothered to think through most of your dogma, we'd agree more often. Careful, now, some of my intelligence and reasoning might rub off.
So are you saying that you meant there is a difference between Democratic and liberal speaking points?

Come on people. Old Lewis is one of a kind and reminds me a lot of the late Sam Kinison...way too funny. Keep up the good work Lewis. Love your stuff.
"I heartily encourage demanding competence in our entertainment, as it seems evident that we'll eventually live in a society ruled entirely by celebrities. I, for one, welcome our unblemished, rail-thin overlords." i think average joe is intelligent and funny, whether i agree with him or not, with a well developed sense of irony, as evidenced in this gem of a quote. you guys desperately need joe to be the p.j. o'rourke of this blog. mutual admiration societies are boring.
