I watch that clip over and over again wishing somewhere in a parallel universe it's all true. Ever since the 2000 elections, the world has looked like a bad episode of Sliders.
Very funny. Thanks.
If anyone wants to view it in windows media go here.
Norm, pretend you didn't read me saying windows. lol
Ahhhhh what could of been...
Even after all these years, "lockbox" still gets a chuckle out of me.
Well, at least the gays can't marry. And, in the end, I think we can all agree that this is what is really important . . .
If he had that kind of personality in 2000, he would have won.
oh Al, we can only dream...
He did. But a brutal combination of Common Sense© and a media that would rather give a failed businessman a free pass for... everything... convinced him to hide it away.
Hence the close win, instead of the landslide he could have easily picked up.
But that's D.C. for you. Competance makes everyone else look poor in comparison, so they have to work harder. But when everyone loses, no one has to do a thing.
Why do you think we've had so many mealy-mouthed politicians, always selling their one-drop-cures-all snakeoil policies for so long?
We found a very interesting film of the guy who came second in this presidential race. George Bush completely drunk, some would say at his intellectual best. We actually wondered whether he ever sobered up.

Al Gore is on the board at Apple. Maybe Steve Jobs has been helping him with his media savvy.
Unfortunately if Gore had won we'd be dealing with Joe Lieberman as VP.
It's not the lawyers we have to kill. It's the handlers... This is the real Gore. More of this in 2000 and he'd really be winding down his 8 years. What a shame.
Gore is great when he's not running for office. It's a long and sad pattern with him. The Democratic party has very poor judgement when it comes to handling it's candidates. They tried to sell Gore as Republican lite. Same with Kerry. It's pointless. If Gore does run again I hope he'll trust his own better instincts.
Democrats, Tired of losing elections? Go here for some instructions on how to be like a Republican!

This just depressed me because of how much potential we've wasted.
XD Thanks, Jo Ann. Hilarious.
Sigh, Americans, why did you ever let this one go...
I can't think of a better place for that turncoat to be, other than in the suckiest understudy job in the free world.
And it would free up his Senate seat for a real Democrat. Win-win, I'd say.
Where was this guy in '00? Wearin' a frickin' Underdog costume fer chrissakes, and acting like an idiot. Oh, Al, why'd you find your mojo too late? Or is it....?
Even more surprising was that someone from SNL actually wrote something funny for once.
i love al. who knows, he might run in '08 (and then no doubt transform into Boring Al again)
Hello Al I hope you make anther run for president in 2008, this time you will make it, people are fed up with the Bush lies and dishonesty.
Thanks and good luck Bill McMillian Williamsburg,oh
