This captures pretty much the essence of the problem there is with bush: so many people still find him charming because he is mocking himself. That the reason why he mocks himself is the same reason for wars, slow reaction to natural hazards, etc. doesn´t seem to concern people enough to watch his ways critically.
It´s like he´s playing the clown puppet, telling people "I´m stupid and therefore I´m harmless. How could you possibly be rude to me?" while everything goes down.
His "comedianish" play is a so well calculated part of the facade which is presented. If it was not connected to the neocon-agenda one could be left there marveling at the plan as a whole. Because it works: some people say "only 34% stand behind his policy", I would counter that with "even with what he´s done still 34% stand behind him".

Norm, you'll want to direct your readers to this chilling interview with Michelle Goldberg about the Christian Reconstructionist movement, and its growing effectiveness.
We're going to be fighting this irrational, agressive, power-seeking movement the rest of our lives.
It's a Fresh Air audo interview with Terry Gross.

Norm, you'll want to direct your readers (or host) this chilling interview with Michelle Goldberg about Christian Reconstructionism -- its parallel reality (abstinence training is superior, condoms dangerous, creationism, US founded as Christian Nation) and, more importantly, its powerful stealth political strategy.
We're going to be fighting this irrational, agressive, power-seeking movement the rest of our lives.
It's a Fresh Air interview with Terry Gross.

Impeachment: can't do just Bush, gotta get them all. But they DID something
New rules: make cell phones inoperable on planes. Golly gee, what's we do without them?
Maher is a comedian, but i think calling Bush a retardis an insult to mentally challenged people world wide. Start that letter writing campaign!

“chilling interview with Michelle Goldberg”
The one thing that I knew that I often forget that this interview cover is that this alternate reality the Christian right teachers is a lot more part of main stream culture then any of us would want to believe. It a culture that I was never exposed to growing up. I often wonder why our country seem to be getting dumber and dumber but when you really think about it that we have 200,000 kids at least never being exposed to reality growing up. It start to make a lot more sense how what most people that go to this forum see as extreme silly ridiculous views are seem as normal to a growing amount of Americans.
The biggest threat too this country freedom is the attack on education. You don’t have to worry about terrorist threatening our freedom if we loose this war on education because there will be no freedom here for them to take. If we don’t find a way to reverse the lack of education that many children get in this country the future is very grim for us. If we want a bright future for this country we must find a way to educate our children.
If we don’t we might be surprise when many views we find silly become the norm and the law 20 years ago. On the bright side if we let things get that out of hand it more then likely we would have destroyed the environment by then so we have much bigger problem to worry about then Christians running the government because I promise you if Christian right running the government they wont be doing shit to save the environment.

Now I need to cancel my Verizon account. I read that Qwest communications pushed back and did not cave in to the NSA but I live in California and Qwest doesn't have service here. Any suggestions about a replacement wireless company that isn’t a sell out?
