A GANG of anarchist Robin Hood-style thieves, who dress as superheroes and steal expensive food from exclusive restaurants and delicatessens to give to the poor, are being hunted by police in the German city of Hamburg.

I love the disclaimer. They should add that they will not be responsible for any loss of property, should burglary occur.

I drink and eat with the Germans. Sometimes I go to the movies with them. I try to avoid their TV. I have learned why they are humourless and staunch and arrogant (but not as bad as the French in Paris). I have tried to show them why Americans are superficial and silly and Disney-like. The Robin Hood silliness mentioned above is despicable. These people do such acts in the name of something that has been ruined – yet they are unable to recognize that. They do this because they are unable to see – Robin is blinded by the lack of luxury. If that’s not enough, these are the folk that leave too much spit on the joint. The buzzword is not colonization nor is it nation-building, it is pacification and these Germans know it best. Siegfried, mein Schatz, gefällt dir deinen neuen Firmen Wagen?
