Oh not again! Someone claiming there is something to Astrology after all. I see that the smugly complacent Ophelia Benson is already having some fun with it. By the way if you haven't already ordered her new book Truth Matters now would be a good time.

im glad rush got arrested, hopefully this will force his followers to have to choose whether to support the drug war or their beloved rush. either way its a good thing.
about the 9/11 skeptic- he says, " "No steel frame building has ever collapsed because of a fire.” Another “fact” repeatedly asserted by CT-s. Irrelevant, even if true. The WTC towers were brought down by a combination of fire and structural damage caused by the impact from the planes. " he omits that the wtc towers were designed to withstand the impact of several planes (not 747s, but the biggest jet around at that time i believe) crashing into them. and also, the fire had only been burning for about an hour, whereas others had been burning for days without collapsing.
however, he does make some good points. i guess he kind of convinced me about the pentagon. the thing about that that made me suspicious was mostly that the pentagon had videos of the crash but didnt release them, but i believe they were regular jet-liners that crashed into the towers, so theres no reason that i can see why it wouldnt work to do the same thing to the pentagon (though the pentagon might have anti-aircraft weapons or something, im not sure).
im frustrated when people expect conspiracy theorists to know everything, how could they possibly? i personally believe that arab terrorists hijacked planes and targetted the wtc (we know they tried to in 93), but i think its possible they had contacts with a small group of people in the US gov. or perhaps one of our intelligence services. the cia tried to get cubans to assassinate castro for us, and i think that conspiracy wasnt very broad in government (by which i mean only a limited number of people knew about it). i believe it was a controlled demolition though. i dont really know enough about the physics of it to speak about his point of where the collapse starts from, and i wasnt really willing to watch those full videos he posted (which dont let you rewind or fastforward) to try and figure it out.
I'm sad to see you dissing astrology, particularly since your site is one of the few that I blogroll. I have an open offer to astrology skeptics: Let me do your chart at no cost and then see whether you still think there's nothing to it!
Thanks, though, for a really great blog.
PS - you may be interested in the post I did on the article you quoted agreeing with the debunker of Sun Sign astrology: http://astrodynamics.blogspot.com/2006/04/science-debunks-sun-sign-astrology.html
Rush is permutating into a caricature of Ed Kennedy.
Who knows...it might help.
Where is the row of numbers at the bottom? Where is his profile? My stars!
Astrology is totally useless for a million scientifically valid reasons...BUT...there are some interesting studies that show significant correlations with what season you were born in and the liklihood of developing certain diseases, including depression and Alzheimer's. Here's just one recent link:

Much more interesting, becuase there's science behind it! Perhaps astrology just misplaces the causes of seasonal differences? Food for thought.
"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country... so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
Rush Limbaugh, Oct. 5, 1995
I guess Rush wants to skip the last part...
