What would John Lennon think?
I think he'd be pleased as punch, personally.
thank you
I got chills.
Other than the fact that it's a clever accomplishment to put Lennon's words in Bush's mouth, I don't quite see the point in doing so. Bush is a murderous thug who doesn't at all represent the sentiment in "Imagine." Might as well put the words in Hitler's mouth. I don't know what it accomplishes other than to soften the image of Bush.
Well I guess spending all the time to make this hippie music video is a lot smarter than, I don't know, voting or actually doing something productive ... right?
I mean isn't the point of life just repeatedly saying "I'm right! I'm right!"
kali-
this song has been around the internets for over a year. It was a big hit in Australia. The name of the track is "Imagine This," and it was created by the recording artist Wax Audio (aka Tom Compagnoni). He is an Australian living in Sydney.
I think he was going for the irony factor with the mix he made.
You can visit his website here: http://www.waxaudio.com.au
I also highly recommend you (and anyone) check out this brief interview with Mr. Compagnoni. It might explain some things.

bittersweet... and bloody funny... This is the website he mentions in the interview. Very interesting stuff.

On the Wax Audio website, there is this quotation snatched from a blog:
"...Bush telling us to "imagine all of the people/ living all in peace" is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard... EVER. The fact of the matter is that the aim of this song is to contradict George Bush's idealogy in everyway and superbly accomplishes that. It's so convincing that at some points, one might actually be convinced that Bush is striving for what he is saying."
Personally, I don't really care for the video. But I love the song.
Ahhh... reminds me of this DJ RX video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdZ_D9d6ywY
The idea is catching on...
wow
that was great--thanks.
