Bush Okayed Leak
You remember Bush on television, "I want to know the truth. If anybody has got any information inside our administration or outside our administration, it would be helpful if they came forward with the information so we can find out whether or not these allegations are true and get on about the business." link Now we learned that not only did he know but personally authorized it. I'm trying to think of an appropriate adjective to describe him, but most I've considered so far I've already used to describe him in the past.
Papers: Cheney Aide Says Bush OK'd Leak
Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide told prosecutors President Bush authorized the leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case.
Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the CIA leak that Cheney told him to pass on information and that it was Bush who authorized the disclosure, the court papers say. According to the documents, the authorization led to the July 8, 2003, conversation between Libby and New York Times reporter Judith Miller.

Comments
"The president specifically had authorized defendant to disclose certain information in the National Intelligence Estimate"
I think the fact that Fitzgerald failed to mention the "certain information" will be used for Bush's Defense.
Didn't he say those responsible would be fired?
Can he fire himself?
Junior never ceases to amaze with his limited IQ
Libby says that Cheney says that Bush authorized leaking of intelligence. Hearsay?
Bush to be impeached?
Bush to be tried as traitor and war criminal?
Will Bush be hanged, the body burned and dragged through the streets, cremated, ashes thrown into an industrial waste disposal site, and forgotten?
Still time for impeachment...
I'm so happy that I can barely drink for the smile on my face.
Apparently Bush is said to have authorized the leak of intelligence on Iraq, not the Plame leak.
Classified information is a political weapon for these people. Always has been. The Attorney General is sitting on Captiol Hill saying he can't tell congress about anything, but Bush can have his stooges tell the media about top secret stuff as long as it helps him politically. It's been a purely partisan game from day 1, that's the biggest thing people have yet to come to grips with about this president. They know he lies and they know he's incompetent. They don't realize that he's played the war on terror merely in order to get power.
Is anyone really all that surprised by this? If someone that influential in the administration leaked information, you can be sure that no one else is going to have a problem with the tactic. Plus, they haven't exactly been proven to abide by the hightest of ethical standards in the past. I don't think there's much they wouldn't resort to if it helped them stay in power.
If justice was to truly be served, of course Bush would have already been impeached. But it's clear that that's not going to happen. Even if the Republicans didn't already control Congress, there are very few politicians willing to take that much of a career risk by standing up for what they (well, at least a few) know is right, as opposed to just pandering to the masses.
Just look at McCain. We don't know if he's felt this way all along, but from his record it seems that he would be the Republican, if any, to stand up to the administration and right-wingers' ridiculous policies. But, clearly, even he can't resist the temptation to pander in order to win more support. I still believe that if we have to have a Republican president, he would be the lesser evil. But this only goes to show that there isn't anyone willing to stand up and risk losing power.
This is all so idiotically like a school playground. It would be laughable if it weren't so utterly tragic. "He said, an' he said, an' I didn't do it, an' it's not me, an' I don't know nothin'!!" Trouble is, the world has been dragged into this puerile little bully-boy game. Worse still, countless innocent people have died because of it. Please, Democrats, wake up and assert yourselves and turn this nightmare around.
"I'm trying to think of an appropriate adjective to describe him,"
The word "dictatorship" springs to mind.
Democrats should have used the president's inherent right to get blowjobs from whoever he wants.
If the president 'classifies' that blowjob, then anyone revealing that blowjob would be a traitor and could be secretly renditioned to Guantanimo for life.
