First, that videos been doing the rounds for at least two years now. Is CNN becoming officially a 24 hour olds network?
Second, the presenters remark "Very lucky man - he didn't lose his job when his boss saw the footage". I'm hoping that was all joke. If America has reached the stage where you can fire someone for being in a car accident then you really need to give your employment lawyers a good shake.
Did CNN just turn into Web Junk 20 for a second?
Now this is funny but not what I would have liked to watched. Still it was funny.
Oh, great, OGM and CNN are turning into wimp.com. I was over at Crooks and Liars, and they had a picture of a teenaged girl taking her clothes off in an ad. Obviously they are turning into stileproject.com. Maybe we could get Kos to start running pictures of mullets and gore.
Heretic, calm down.
This video has multiple purposes on OGM. It points to the fact that CNN is trying to be hip with the youth by showing "funny" videos. It also shows how the internet is important to news. It also shows how the internet has information that some news channels don't show (alghouth this isn't quite the best clip to use). And finally Norm is making a public service announcement by telling people to buckle up.
Okay, I'm just a little on edge lately, man.
Duncan, two things. First of all, the reporter said he DID lose his job when his employer saw the tape.
Secondly, the guy fell asleep. He was a cab driver. His job is to drive people around from place to place in a safe manner. He fell asleep and got into a car accident. He was lucky because he walked away from the accident.
Jeez, if things everywhere else have reached the point where cab drivers DON'T get fired for falling asleep and causing accidents... I might be proud for once to live here.
I like that the entire time this guy is trying to regain control of his car, it never occurs to him to put his other hand back on the wheel.
Note to self: when riding in cabs, talk constantly to keep the driver awake.
I'm disappointed in Anderson. He just showed the karate monkey today. Someone needs to wake him up with a REPOST scream.
