What's O'Connor all riled up about? She got exactly the government she voted for.
AA--You're exactly right. O'Connor is one of only five people in America who can say that their vote really mattered in 2000 the sense that it, by itself, caused Bush to win. It was horrible jurisprudence and pure partisanship on her part, and now it's a bitter irony that her own party is the one irresponsibly trashing the judiciary.
Re: the 18 year old hot shot. It's probably good that there are interesting personalities in chess, but what a punk. He sounds like the ugly American. It's hard to imagine that this kid will do a tenth as much for the game as Kasparov has done, in terms of being an ambassador for it and attracting people from all walks of life to it.
