Jon, as always, has it exactly right: below 40 is dangerous territory for Bush. And his cabal in Congress knows that. It should turn out pretty well in November which opens the possibility to bring the junta to book for all the atrocities they've done. Let's just hope Dubya didn't tank to soon. (Although that's what I feared last October. It seems only the bottom is the limit..)
Just saw another bit of the interview on crooksandliars. Maybe I should watch Larry again - or maybe I just forgot to check that Stewart was on. Anyways, when the history of the Bush years are written, they will say that Stewart was not only one of the funniest people around but one of the smartest and most humane. What I really like about him is that he is no cynic.
Larry: "In a sense, you're happy over this. This gives you fodder." Jon: "I'd prefer not the fodder. We're not the guys at the craps table betting against the line. We'd make fun of something else. If public life, if government suddenly became inspiring and moved towards people's better nature and began to solve problems in a rational way rather than just a way that involved political dividends we would be the happiest people in the world to turn our attention to idiots like, you know, media people. No offence."
Way to go!
I just watched the whole show
found here.
Jon say something to Larry, (sort off mic) I can't make it out. It sounds like, "look at you, your bea (unintelligible), I can see it in your eyes."
I think he was giving Larry the business, but I can't tell. Can anybody help me out, and figure out what he said?
