Please tell me these people don't vote.
Sadly, I think they're not actors.
Please, please tell me these people are not the ones who will shape future American policy.
Voting would be a bye the bye,the scariest thing would be having the likes of these two sitting in judgement. "Tried by twelve peers" It would I think exclude these two (probably quite sweet people) for I should think they are peerless.
If they're not actors, I'd have to imagine they're being paid all the same to "act" the fool. I can't imagine someone volunteering to make repeated appearances on a popular TV show to be bluntly ridiculed.
They're obviously actors. Because they're too old for the speech patterns they've been given. But they're brilliant.
Dave: Sadly, I don't think they're actors. Mikey: If they're as dumb as they seem, they're too dumb to know they're being ridiculed.
They have to be actors. The dialogue flowed too perfectly, something which I don't think two kids THAT dumb would have been able to pull off, even with Jay Leno's help.
I think they are actors. Seemed a little scripted to me. However, I do think there are 'some' out there that are this enlightened.
interesting spin on a Turing Test
The flow of the dialogue good just be the result of editing. They ask hundreds of questions shoot hours of film and edit out the crap.
"Marijuana and Pot are the same thing?"
Wowser.
"They were all high in the eighties." "Pot was a really big thing in the eighties." So, uh, cannabis makes you nicer... but it should'nt be smoked because its "bad"?
Oh, and "Girls have girl parts." Nice.
Global warming is caused by the Sun getting too close to us, which can be prevented by "backing up" with a bunch of rocket ships pushing against the earth... "WHOOOHHH.."
Right.
50/50, could be actors, could be genuine. The constant shifts in body positioning between shots indicated heavy editing to give the appearance of that flow. If they are actors, I give them credit for an outstanding performance.
To Mikey's comment: people will do just about anything to be on TV. It's how reality TV was born.
Hello? Definitely actors.
why hello Condescending Post! a nice Monday to you too...
America's future or some great actors
Eek is that the dilema on offer?
The editing comment was clever but even so I think it's overwhelmingly obvious they're acting. Maybe I'm just not cynical enough but there is a definite divide between that kind of dumb and the dumb that show's like the Daily Show ridicule.
Actors in a prerecorded segment. Hilariously deadpan, too.
All these guys are actors...the Jaywalking, Street Smarts people...funny, though.
oh dear lord. They were probably actors, but there are people like that out there. When my family moved up to Alaska I had a acquaintance ask me if I would have dual US-Alaska citizenship. Amazing.
these people HAVE to be actors. please please please...
damn funny tho.
These people are only a threat if they have powerful parents who can help them become...you know how this goes.
Does anyone have any evidence that the people on Jaywalking are actors? I doubt it. I know people that are that dumb, and this is Southern California, after all.
Am I the only one who wants to sleep with the girl?
These characters have to be actors. The Jay Leno writers write all their interviews. So, it is a well planned sketch. Too crazy to be real.
Too crazy to be real -- sad enough to be true.
ahhaha republicans
You're not alone Matthew. That girls is indeed bangable.
There is something about sweet, credulous girls with double digit IQs that just do it for most guys...
They need their own show.
This clip proves my equation: Stupid people + important issues = hilarity
In a recent conversation with an American friend, I brought up the indictments against Libby and talked about how an act of treason appears to have been committed by the Vice President.
My friend looked puzzled. Then, with astonishment in her vice she said, "Al Gore committed treason?"
I was dumb founded. What can you say to that?
So, I have no problem believing these are real people. I've met numerous people that are really that dumb and clueless.
If they are actors, they are really good.
Actors or not, this was oddly depressing.
She reminded me of Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny: Brilliantly convincing acting on her part. Butthead, on the other hand, seemed to be struggling a bit to come up with inane, but humorous, statements.
They're actors: There are really some good lines in there, which merely stupidity probably can't produce. Most stupid people are annoying to listen to.
They're not actors: You've got to be very, very good to be that un-self-consciously dense. Look at actors who play idiots for gags (like Will Farrell)--it's an absolute ham-fest. These two are so much more easy-going than any fictional idiot I've ever seen.
I'm going with the second choice (barely).
The voting thing: I don't worry about the stupidity of the voters. Almost all voting is a binary choice and unintelligent choices are probably arrayed randomly, or roughly in the same pattern as everyone else. Just because someone's stupid don't assume they're voting against your candidate (or mine). Stupidity seems to be random and thus cancels itself out.
I'm in lurvve... she's such a cutie!!
Although I think these guys are probably actors, I don't think they're far off the mark. There was a funny/scary video on CNNN - a man on the street spot, in which they asked people to identify and point out which country America should bomb next. The responses were amazing, as well as the inaccurate geograpy references.
I'd bone the chick.
1) I'd bone her too
2) I've known plenty of people who act stupid for attention. It seems like they are just playing stupid most of the time and acting silly.
Guys, this isn't a Fark forum. Swing your erections around elsewhere. You sound as simple as the panelists.
Anyway, if they're actors, they're quite impressive. I've seen a few of these skits before, and they all seem pretty damn realistic, though. Editing is more powerful than some people here want to believe, I think.
And I'll add that I've met plenty of folks who I'd count as being just as dumb as these two (characters). Don't forget -- as someone already mentioned -- most people would do anything to get on TV, no matter what it's for. Couple that with the fact that there's no shortage of morons who actually find their own lack of knowledge hilarious themselves.
Actors or non-actors, I could believe both. I know people like them in real life.
Yeah, both the guy and the girl are cute, but that's the stereotype, beautiful but no brains. :)
