Right, Bros.

Oh my, this is hilarious. The right-wing never knows when to say uncle, so they say Uncle Sam. They should have a TV show right-wingers gone wild.

Wow. Just Wow.

that made me laugh hard. nice.

They didnt rip off Billy Joel very much did they? Ok so it is a rip off of "We didnt start the fire" but it isnt a very good one. Which crime is worse plagerism or sucking like a 50 cal chest wound.

The guys who wrote this shit are just fresh back from the fighting right? Please tell me they have seen combat first hand. Lie to me.

C.

God. That was funny, yet quite sad. It sounded nearly as bad as some of the emo/pop music that is released. Even conservatives will hate the song.

That was unreal. Pretty soon the "Right Brothers" will have the say, "Look at all of the hugs I get at TRL"

haven't really bad songs made it to TRL simply because they're bad? I thought that was the whole point of it.

Are you telling me TRL is meant to be serious?

Yes, Thanks Keith. At least that newsman can cut through the bullshit.

I kept waiting for the proof. Where was the proof?

They must be making fun of green day...

If Keith had not said otherwise, I would have thought the whole song was sarcastic.

and LMFAO at these guys ever getting on MTV. (yes, that is really The Right Brothers. The woman between them runs redstategear.com)

well, I'm convinced. There were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and Saddam was not only involved in 9/11, he flew one of the planes.

The rhetorical device "you're wrong, we're right, nyah nyah nyah" is a compelling argument. I am in awe. I can't begin to refute it.

Huh? Oh. Can I have my IQ back now please?

Wait... if it shows terrorists on the monkey bars with an american flag superimposed over it, isn't that saying they're american?

Oh noes.

Wow, they want you to pay a dollar to download the mp3.

As for proving their point:

Freedom in Afghanistan, Say goodbye Taliban-http://washingtontimes.com/world/20051113-114108-7539r.htm

All over the middle east, dictators walk with shaky knees- http://www.irna.ir/en/news/view/menu-236/0511153078103752.htm&cid=1102389772 http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=2157952005 http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L14731297.htm and others, too much to pick apart.

All I have to say is, if you pick, out of everyone out there who is conservative, Zell Miller as someone you support, then you are stupid.

"Zell Miller Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight..." LOL!

U gotta admit though. It is kinda catchy...

Here are two more of their songs. What's wrong here? I guess that hypocrite doesn't translate well into neo-con speak.

For My Country Written by: Aaron Sain/Frank Highland Lead vocals: Frank Highland

I’ve never served in the military Or put my life on the line I’ve never made a sacrifice for my country

But I know of those who have Lost it all in the fight And of the ones they left behind for my country

Chorus Makes me wanna sing, sing out loud With a voice that’s free and proud For those who fell on blood-stained ground for my country

Wanna let the world know where I stand That I believe in the heart of this great land And that I pray God’s guiding hand for my country

Turned on the news first thing this morning And saw where two more soldiers died So I could sleep in peace last night in my country

Repeat Chorus 2X

Native Son Written by: Frank Highland Lead vocals: Frank Highland

We had warmth in the winter in the summer cool shade In the land of the free and the home of the brave From where I sit now it's a long way back Since the day we arrived we've been under attack

Chorus Uncle Sam's got me on loan Gonna give my best to the folks back home It's who I am and where I'm from In a blaze of glory gonna do what it takes If I have to die fightin' for the U.S.A. Cause the mother land said it needs to be done And don't you know I'm her native son

With every shell that hits the ground I feel a jolt I'm scared to death and my guts are up in my throat But if they think that I'm gonna turn and run They got a thing or two to learn about this native son

If I make it out alive I'll be a changed man Baptized in the blood of this foreign land But if I go down in this man-made hell Lord, let me go fightin' tooth and nail

"Freedom in Afghanistan, Say goodbye"

I'm curious: at what point does your self-righteous, gastrointestinal bloviation become too much for even you to bear?

You realize you're cheerfully saying that 'freedom in Afghanistan is gone'?

You're happy that ex-Taliban members were elected to positions?

I'm not sure which chunk of your idiocy should be addressed first: that you are celebrating the possible return of a brutal regime, or that you seem to think that the right of the people to determine their own ruler was their downfall.

BTW, wasn't Afghanistan a UN action? What does that have to do with Bush?

Freedom is there. They may not make the best decisions, but that's the risk you take.

Personally, given the damage rabid feminism has done to Western society, I'm more concerned about those 'female activists' they elected. Scary.

Wow, that made me laugh. Thanks!

In checking out zee Reich March.. ahem.. err. "Rightmarch.com" website I am much impressed by their choice of logo - red flag vit black and white icon in zee middle. Vere haf I seen zis before?

Wow. They did a truly excellent job proving exactly why the entire country of France is "wrong" and Zel Miller is right. These guys are AMAZING.

ROFL.. hilarious. To be fair now the Left have "Flora Bush" as thier fight the power music.

http://www.florabush.com/

cringe

I'm with you guys, that's proof if I've ever seen it.

rabid feminism

Feminists... gosh, and all this time I thought it was either the blacks or the jews or the pinko commies or the terrorists or ... Thanks for clearing that up Joe!

(Seriously now: it's rabid fundamentalism that you should be worrying about.)

This is a common right-wing tactic. Repeat a lie enough times and it becomes the truth. The truly sad thing is how many Americans actually fall for this tactic... Even after its proven to be a lie.

In a strange way they remind me of Lars from Metallica - Fire BAD, beer GOOD! France BAD, Bush GOOD!

Funny that it's a bad rip of Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire" because, well, we sort of did start the fire. Pretty much.

America. The world's "I didn't do it" kid.

I have to admit, in one way it is a rather catchy little tune. It's been stuck in my head most of today. Fortunately, it is made by such low talent that it's REALLY easy to change the words in my mind.

"Bush was WRONG! Neener neener neener..."

That was hilarious. And awful.

Oh my god that was awesome!! This whole time I've been thinking Bush was wrong. Finally there's a music video to tell me he was right. Very convincing.

Joe, oh dear Joe, do you ever think about what you are writing before you hit post?

I usually just ignore your rhetoric... but now you’ve really confused me. Your quote is not only incomplete, but is a line from the song in the clip, not just someone else’s post. In the song, they say "Freedom in Afghanistan, Say goodbye Taliban" yet, ex-Taliban members were elected. Therefore, the song is wrong - the Taliban isn’t gone.

You realize you're cheerfully saying that 'freedom in Afghanistan is gone'?

No... nobody is saying that cheerfully. They are simply pointing out that the song is WRONG. Where you got the idea that anyone is happy about it is anyone’s guess. What exactly was said that could be described as “celebrating the possible return of a brutal regime”?

In response to another of your comments, if Afghanistan was a UN action, where do the songwriters get off using it as proof that “Bush was right”?

It’s not clear who you are addressing your outrage at. Or, maybe you don’t make any sense because you didn’t watch the clip, and are just here to stir shit up by insulting people and trying to make them mad (as usual). Is your life really unsatisfying or something?

Oh... and I’m curious to know what “damage” feminism has done to Western society, in your opinion. Could you give some specific examples? Or do you just hate it that we can vote?

It's another fun tactic (employed by plenty of people, to be honest) in debate:

If someone points out your claim is wrong, point out how sick it is of them to "delight" in your being wrong. If you can't get the factual high-ground, go for moral superiority!

“I don’t care if Bush uses nukes on the whole of the Middle East, personally executes every suspected terrorist without even a trial, or even destroys the entire ecosystem in his march against the radical environmentalist movement. As long as he apposes abortion he can do absolutely anything he wants and that would be ok with me because he has a personal relationship with the Lord. Those other things just don’t matter much to me.” (a recent quote from an educated, right-wing conservative with whom I work with. And she was totally serious which makes it even more frightening.)

Hey Joe,

Nice email address - it matches your grade school mentality and your high school wit.

I take it that you aren't one for all that fancy book learnin'

Sounds like a beer commercial.

Personally, given the damage rabid feminism has done to Western society, I'm more concerned about those 'female activists' they elected. Scary.

Yes, Western society totally went haywire when men started facing repercussions for beating their wives. What's next, they start demanding to be allowed to live after dishonoring their families by being raped? Lawks, Afghani society is going to go right down the tubes.

John - just use wit against those with a myopic mind such as the rightwinger you work next to (technically, a 'conservative' would not be into nuking the Middle East as that does nothing to conserve anything, just make 1/6 of the world totally inhabitable, but I digress...)

Say something like "so what you are saying is that, so long as abortion is illegal, Bush can send random hit squads to kill people, like me and you, and you will go down with a happy smile..." or "so really, what you are saying is so long as abortion remains the only illegal thing, you dont actually care what else happens in society, ie tax is increased 500% or your favourate outdoor scenic place you visited when you were 5 years old, bulldozed & concreted by Halliburton coz the Govt was willing to pay them to do it..."

I mean, where does this type of thinking actually keep gaining traction? Its up to us to neutralise it, usually with humour. The right wing seems oblivious to humour. Or its unintention, like this song.

"Yes, Western society totally went haywire when men started facing repercussions for beating their wives. What's next, they start demanding to be allowed to live after dishonoring their families by being raped?"

You're making a very simple mistake: you confuse feminism (which is, by definition, the concern of increasing female power) with equality. Wives and husbands should be equally free from beating. That's not a 'feminist' issue.

Feminism is destroying Western society by its very basic tenet: promoting the interests of women over men. We see this in numerous places from the erosion of the role of the male in family life / society (e.g. the inequitable laws regarding custody) to the current crisis regarding the lack of men in higher education. For years we have been fed lies about women being 'under-represented' and 'short-changed' in schools, when they have long had an advantage both in primary and secondary schooling. And that's just two examples. If you actually cared about the results of the 'feel-good' position you slap on your bumper, you'd do the research yourself.

But, again, don't let the facts deter you. You have a party line to follow. And you liberals think you're so different.

Definition of Feminism:

Webster's Dictionary

  1. Advocacy of the political and socioeconomic equality of men and women.
  2. The movement supporting feminism.

The American Heritage Dictionary:

Feminism 1. Belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. 2. The movement organized around this belief.

Simple etymology and applied learning:

femin (as in 'feminine') - of or relating to the female ism - distinctive doctrine, system, or theory

Thus, 'feminism' is a doctrine/system/theory which promotes the interests of women. QED.

Dictionaries are not objective arbiters of truth. They even frequently disagree. But I can debate you on your own idiotic terms:

"Wikipedia: Feminism is advocacy for women"

Interesting that you chose to ignore the facts I cited and instead tried to define yourself out of a debate. The brainwashed equivalent of covering up your ears and screaming "lalalalalalala".

That's musical trolling, if ever I heard it.

Wow! What can I say? If they want airplay they should be asking people to call Dr. Demento not MTV. The Right Bros. are now asurred a place in rock history...right along with Milli Vanilli. I see a new footnote in the rock-n-roll hall of shame. As a song writer I have to say Conrats! I coulnd't have done better!(if it's just a joke I mean)

Based on the content of the posts here, most of the posters didn't listen to Olbermann when he said, "They haven't shot the music video yet" - they think this is The Right Brothers' video!! They think THAT is what they're trying to get on TRL.

No, they just shot an actual video for the song, which was in post-production this week. That's what RightMarch will be pushing through grassroots activism, kind of like was done with The Right Brothers' "Waffle House" song right before the election (350,000 downloads).

PAY ATTENTION next time.

Someone call Billy Joel...there's an infringement suit just waiting to be filed.

Joe,

You really are a clown :)

Ricky Bones - don’t be a condescending ass

Joe - Let me see if I can make the feminism argument a little clearer.

I am assuming you would use the terms feminism and liberalism in the same context so lets start with liberalism first and see where that gets us.

Liberalism is a philosophical belief stemming from the contract theories put forward by great thinkers such as Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau. The fundamental tenements of this theory is that societies are formed out of an agreement by willing parties to relinquish some of their natural freedoms (such as the freedom to kill another person in order to get something you want) in exchange for protection and services the society can offer. The stability of the contract is maintained on the presupposition that “I” (the party involved) will have a reasonable expectation of achieving my ends if I hold true to the systems rules.

Now you may ask, “What does this have to do with Liberalism?” and the answer is not so simple that I can make it in so brief a statement but I can do my best. In the late 1970’s John Rawls wrote a book entitled “A Theory on Justice” in which he clarifies the notion of contract theory by removing the often misunderstood “state of nature” and replacing it with something called “the original position.” To summarize this, lets imagine a group of five people. Now these five people have not been born yet and as a result of their lack of corporeal existence they have no race and no sex. They have no idea whether they will be born wealthy or poor, male or female, black or white, or any other thing that might sway their judgment and make them bias towards one thing or another. The question they have to answer is “What rules or system of justice can be devised in order that I might have at my disposal the greatest capacity to achieve my ends?”

Liberalism, and Feminism in turn, are concerned with how our system is set up and whether it meets its ends. If someone is touting the Feminist philosophy in such a way as to be concerned about the rights and liberties of the woman at the expense of the male, I can assure you it is not a liberal belief. It is most likely born out of a self-righteous authoritarianism. Only it’s ironically feminine.

Derek,

Lick sack! I don't remember talking to you. Nice diatribe though.

Funny you should mention diatribe...

HAHA. Bush ROCKS on the guitar.

Derek, you don't actually think JOE read that whole thing do you? Hell, I like to read, and I just scanned it.

It's hard for people like Joe, because they don't have a classical education, and they have listened to the drug-addict Rush for so long that they have the word FemiNazi in their heads, even if they are smart enough to leave it out of their trolling posts.

Joe is an IDIOT! Of course Feminism doesn't promote women OVER men. Only a very scared woman-hater would think so. WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE NOT SPECIAL RIGHTS. I marched for the Equal Rights Ammendment in the 1970's and listened to the idiot predisessors of Joe tell me how it was going to result in uni-sex toilets and women in combat. Hmmm. Geee. It didn't pass, and I go into a uni-sex toilet at home and work every day, lock the door (at work) and do my business. Hell, it even has room for the disabled (or, "cripples" as JOE probably thinks fo them, and I'm sure he's against the ADA as well, as "government interference in the free market system", in spite of the fact that there were far fewer big bathroom stalls before the ADA than after, but I'm sure that's just because business hadn't figured out how to charge the crips for the big stalls without charging everybody). Oh, and as for women-in-combat, don't make me laugh. At least some women are willing to go, unlike the chickenhawks in this Republican administration that send these kids to slaughter thinking of them as nothing more than "cannon fodder" to prop up their long-term bases in Iraq.

People like Joe are the problem, not the solution. I don't know if we can TALK/JOKE with them (like the anti-abortion woman in the office) or if we just have to make them irrelevant to the process.

Maybe we should just post a list of them on a website with their home addresses like they did with that anti-Abortion-doctor website and let the fringier elements "take care of the problem" for us. NAW -- I believe in the right of everybody to speak their views, no matter how insipid and stupid they are. But, in the case of the neo-con right wing nutjobs, I'm not quite sure I would fight to the death for their right to do it.

Charlie L Portland, OR

That song was so freakin' hilarious! I hope music that bad never airs on our TV EVER! Even if they think it won't air because of political reasons, Right Brothers: WRONG! They just ripped off another song and put in some new lyrics. Plus the fact that they don't know what they're talking about...
