Robin Williams is always good, IMHO. Hey, can we try to get him as President? I imagine things would still be all jacked up, the corruption would still rage, but at least the President would be able to make eclectic jokes about it.

One of the funniest people alive (.) That's high quality material that he did all for that show.

Robin Williams as president--I'm not as enthusiastic. Do you see the types of characters he does when he goes serious? Scary.

He is brilliant! I adore his quick wit.

We need to find an alternative to using gas powered cars.

These last 3 videos you have posted are absolute gold. Thanks! Keep up the great work!

Lipo-cars, an idea whose time has come. Just plug'em in, run through the MCDonald's drive throug, and fill up the passengers.

What do you do if you are anorexic and have no fat friends? All the babes will have fat boyfriends. All those sports and movie heroes, in the new lipo-humvees, will be sporting really fat girls, in every seat.

Skinny blondes will have to walk while the fat people ride. A time whose idea has come. A technological inovation that will raise the social status of fat people all over America. How's that for an example of social engineering? Better living through scarcity.

geez, I dunno what it is about Robin Williams; I love him as an actor, I think he's probably a pretty swell person and he is indeed incredibly creative. But I have a real hard time with his humor. Firstly, he makes me very anxious with his high strung style and I find his jokes quite often fairly forced (I'm not sure how to better express this except to say that the jokes seem so spontaneous as to not quite have hit their mark - do you know what I mean?).

I really would like to enjoy him as a comedian, but then he goes and does something like that 'Frenchman in a beret sunk Greenpeace' spot and it's not funny for it's stereotyping as well as it's content. Maybe his comedic energy is just a little too volatile for me.. sorry..

Williams is great, always unpredictable. With such a unique perspective, I'm convinced that he's an alien. Nanoo nanoo.

Hmm.

Any new 'proof' that we are causing catastrophic global warming?

Nope.

Nothing to see here.

The scare tactics are rather childish, folks. Frankly it would be much more effective to take a factual tack: oil is a limited resource, controlled by people who are obviously willing to strap bombs on themselves and blow up anyone - including their family - to keep us out of their homeland. Maybe we should be looking for a way to be less reliant on them?

Nah. Better to invent some bogeyman like 'global warming'. And if you don't believe it, you're just a profit-oriented capitalist pig (just like Michael Moore! But I digress).

If you are looking for a factual, intelligent debate about global warming, Joe "blowme@blowme.com," maybe this thread isn't the right one. The purpose of these comedians coming on the comedy show was to raise awareness of global warming in America. I think comedy works fine-- it says hey, we're all behind the science America.

Joe's just pissed, because with every passing decade, he's wrong. He just gets wronger and wronger [sic]. He must exist in some sort of bizzaro world, where everything is a lie, with the small exception of right wing talk radio. He's so wrong, he calls Michael Moore a capitalist! He's got as much credibility as a porous condom, if intelligence were a disease, he'd be innoculated. A poster child for disproving intelligent design. He's the reason lawyers have gas stations write "do not drink" on the gas pumps. Hey Joe, "How many fingers am I holding up?!".

Wrong. Two. One on each hand.

Here you go Joe, go try to learn something.

The following summary and some excerpts from newscientist.com

The physics of the greenhouse effect has been know for over a hundred years. It is a fact, not conjecture and not a scare tactic, that carbon dioxide, methane and chlorofluorocarbons have been accumulating in the lower atmosphere. It is a fact, not conjecture and not scare tactics, that the accumulation of these greenhouse gases trap the Sun's radiation and cause global warming. It is a fact, not conjecture and not scare tactics, that the Earth's surface temperatures are warming. In 2002, the planet Earth experienced its warmest first quarter since records began over 140 years ago. Analysis of the proxy temperature record contained in, for example, the rings of ancient tree trunks suggest it is the warmest start to a year for 1000 years. Of particular significance is that the new record was set without the warming influence of a significant El Niņo event. The record for the hottest three month period at any time of the year came between February and April in 1998, during a major El Niņo.

It is a fact, not conjecture and not scare tactics, that the accumulation rate of atmospheric carbon dioxide has doubled since 2001. The level of the major greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, in the Earth's atmosphere has hit a record high.

It is a fact, not a scare tactic, that carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels contribute to global warming. Recordings from a volcano-top observatory, NOAA's Mauna Loa Observatory on Hawaii, showed carbon dioxide levels had risen to an average of about 376 parts per million (ppm) for 2003. This is 2.5 ppm up from the average for 2002. It is not the highest leap in year-on-year atmospheric carbon dioxide levels recorded by NOAA. But it is the first to be sustained, with 2002 levels up 2.5 ppm from 2001. This year-on-year hike is considerably larger than the average annual increase of about 1.5 ppm seen over the last few decades says Pieter Tans, chief scientist at NOAA's climate monitoring and diagnostic lab in Boulder, Colorado, US.

If it takes comedians and scare tactics, though, to alert the public to this problem, then so be it. If we ignore the effects that humans have on global warming, we will soon discover just how scary the consequences really are and we will wish that more people had employed scare tactics. This is a serious topic that we ignore to our own detriment and the solutions which can be implemented are viable.

Marry me, Jo Ann

Greatest comedian that ever was.

Period.

His brain must run double the speed of everybody else. Ever seen the outtakes of "Good Morning Vietnam"? Or his thanking address at his lifetime achievement Golden Globe? Simply. Stunning. Sorry, jimbomusic, but rather than his "Hook" actor's persona it is his stand up self that just leaves me in awe...
