Bloviating Buffoon

O'Reilly Won't Back Down After Blasting S.F.
Conservative Broadcaster Bill O'Reilly is making no apologies for his inflammatory comments about San Francisco.
"I'm from New York," O'Reilly said on the radio Friday. "There are dozens of people in my neighborhood, on Long Island, who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there. Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."
OíReilly is upset about the city's proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.
"And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it," he said. "We're going to say, look every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead."

I'm not surprised that Oreilly said it, but is this something to get all up in a knot about? Does Al Quaeda report to Bill Oreilly? Maybe that's a connection we need to investigate :-)

Concentrate on raising awareness about the predatory recruiting, don't give that idiot more airtime than he deserves.

How much dumber can O'Reilly get?

No surprise either.

What a moron. I think Army Recruiter's should be banned from all public places period. There is a place to go if you want to join the army, I hate the assholes who come around pressuring young citizen's into joining ranting on and on about great benefits and showering you with pointless free army propaganda merchandise.

When I worked at wal-mart a year ago pushing carts I had one of these morons approuch me, asked me if I wanted a real job, in which I replyed I have a real job thank you very much, one that doesn't endanger my life. Then he tried showering me with some free army keychain like that was gonna sway my decision. I refused again and he gave me an army cd binder, I took it said thanks I need more of these, then promptly refused his offer for the last time.

Point is, if someone wants to join the army we have recuiting office's in every city for a reason, these recruiter's are just as bad as people who stand in parking lots and try to sell you crap out of a cardboard box, it's annoying and a pointless waste of my time.

Oh bill, why won't you just die?

you'd be doing evolution a favor.

CA Student, that's a good point. Has O'Reilly reprodudced? Can you imagine an Ann Coulter/Bill O'Reilly love child?

"but is this something to get all up in a knot about?"

Yes.

This fascist needs to lose his audience. Spreading his "Robertsonesque" statements... AND NOT FORGETTING ABOUT THEM...is the key to legitimately putting out the word to SMART PEOPLE that Billy is an asshole.

Smart people in large groups can change things.

Nobody's parents wants recruiters in schools...not even pro-war republicans want their kids going to war.

O'Reilly's rants aren't going to change that.

Bin Laden/Bill O'Reilly correspondence intercepted!

http://www.needlenose.com/node/view/2292

What's up with these conservatives, first calling upon God to destroy their enemies, and now when he refuses... Al Queda? This is just insane.

Military recruitment of gullible young school children is the Bush admin's way of leaving no child behind, unless it is Iraq where they will be left behind to be killed. This requirement is a provision of the No Child Left Behind Act, HR 1, Section 9528. Damn, this administration and their FOX friends are corrupt. As if sending these kids off to war improves their education. What a farce.

The Coit Tower stands as an homage to firefighters. Perhaps that O’Reilly pussy would like to travel around with real men, the San Francisco Fire Fighters! Kids on campuses are there to learn how to use their minds and to try to solve the world’s issues not be fed a bunch of propaganda bullshit about how much fun it is to spray innocent Iraqi women and children with White Phosphorus. I have a great idea, send all the recruiters to red state churches! That’s where all the “real tough” Bush lovers are! Don’t just SAY you love how your commander in chief has a pipeline to God, put your mind where your ass is and pick up a rifle, son!

Damn right, I'm up in a knot! These Pat Robertson, Bush crime family right wing filthy fascists bastards make me sick!

Man, I don't like to hate people because I'm a nice guy but... This O'Reilly guy. I almost feel sorry for him. I think he's just old and stubborn and a little bit brainwashed. He doesn't realize how wrong these comments are. He reminds me of my grandfather...

Screw Al Qaeda, I can't help but feel that we're going to end up fighting troops loyal to the RNC/Fox News coalition in the not-too-distant future.

The only question is, how are we going to fight Civil War II without a Mason-Dixon line?

Aaah if only Al Qaeda actually existed we wouldnt have to worry about this at all. I hate him and all he stands for, but getting away from the point of the CIA funding the same people who emerged from Afghanistan as "Al Qaeda" is really the root of the problem.

"Ann Coulter/Bill O'Reilly love child?"

Oh shit! That would be worse than Satan himself.

"Ann Coulter/Bill O'Reilly love child?"

Suddently "intelligent design" seems a hell of a better idea than evolution.

This nutcase is on his way out and wants to make a big stink b/f leaving so we all remember him. I say we give al'qaeda bill, rush, pat, and ann then maybe they won't hate us anymore! And God will love us more!!

redstateliberal

Bill may be an idiot, but the frightening thing is how many people actually agree with this moron. I was having a conversation with one such human? and she actually said "if you want to know what to think, just watch Bill O'Reilly, he'll tell you". I have never been so frightened. He has a huge zombie following, I guess using their own brains must cause a great deal of discomfort.

If an arab said that, O'Really would be screaming that he should be tortured.

I say, what's good for the goose...

Thanks Jo Ann for that crucial bit of info of that provision "No Child Left Behind Act, HR 1, Section 9528", the more we share that and bring it to the public awareness, the better.

I'm disgusted by how similar we are to that spook The Base. Recruiting naive kids into the wars of war lovers.

People forget too that OReilly was just a lame reporter for a tabloid TV show that was crap in the early 90's. How can anybody give this guy credibility is beyond me.

Hes smart actually, he spews his patriotic insane posse venom for his core audience he get all worked up just like he does, alarming and instigating shit. Cowardly.

CA Student, that's a good point. Has O'Reilly reprodudced? Can you imagine an Ann Coulter/Bill O'Reilly love child?

Indeed, I can, I really can

hate to be a pessimist, but it seems we're preaching to the choir and getting nowhere. we all agree that o'reily, coulter, et. al. don't represent the masses, but they get the airtime because they're sensational, and they influence impressionable minds (i.e., voters). and when they make assanine comments like the one posted here they get even more airtime. For every sane, rational being, there are at least three naive, uneducated people who, whether they're aware of their own belief's or not, erroneously think that might makes right -- whether that might come in the form of bombs ("shock and awe") or vitriol.

I'm beginning to think we need to sink to they're level in order to take control.

Amarok posted: "Suddently "intelligent design" seems a hell of a better idea than evolution."

What sort of intelligent "being" would design O'Reilly?

Isn't it funny we live in a world where people who go to peace rallys are interviewed by the FBI but here we have someone calling for Al-Queda to blow up one our cities and not a peep from the FBI. Maybe the FBI should pay him a visit, encouaging terrorists to attack America sounds more threatening to our homeland than those who go to a peace rally. Talk about aiding and abetting the enemy.....

We have more power than you think. E-mail Foxnews and those who air his radio show and say that you will boycott their advertisers if they do not hold him responsible for what he says. Explain that you believe in freedom of speech, but also believe that such inflammatory comments should not be supported as legitimate journalism.

Here's some posts with e-mail adresses, info etc.:

The christian right have gotten such personalities as Bill Maher fired from their position by boycotting advertisers. It's time O'Reilly gets the same treatment.

I decided to help Bill O'Reilly.

I have given him directions to help serve his country and win WWIII.

Directions For Bill O'Reilly

I'm not happy about it, but I think O'Reilly's right about this one. Not because he's smart but because it's obvious. San Franciscans think they have their own separate country. They are always 'defying' this law and 'opposing' that law. I didn't think this was possible, but I actually believe San Francisco is crappier than Texas.

"What a moron. I think Army Recruiter's should be banned from all public places period. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the people who flock to this kind of site have no respect for the military. Your statement - and the people who support it - clearly shows that.

Being in the military is a job. Generally it is a safe, well-paying job with very little risk. The fact that we are currently at war does not make the job of being in the military any less respectable. Your attitude is like saying people who want to be cops are stupid because you disagree with some of the laws on the books. Laws change. Foreign policy changes.

We allow other job recruiters onto public grounds, so obviously the military should be allowed; not to mention the fact that 'public' grounds are those provided by taxpayer money, so logically our government should be allowed to recruit on public grounds.

"Recruiting naive kids into the wars of war lovers."

Those 'naive kids' are 18 years old. Get over yourself. You're like one of those feminazis insulting women who choose to stay home. News flash: your opinion does not supercede the choice of another adult.

"Kids on campuses are there to learn how to use their minds and to try to solve the world’s issues not be fed a bunch of propaganda bullshit about how much fun it is to spray innocent Iraqi women and children with White Phosphorus."

God you're an idiot.

“I'm not happy about it, but I think O'Reilly's right about this one. Not because he's smart but because it's obvious. San Franciscans think they have their own separate country.”

Well, Joe, I’ve been talking with a wide variety of people about O’Reilly’s hateful comments, including my Republican friends who I have polite debates with from time to time, and so far you’re the only jack-ass I’ve heard stand up for it. (Although, I did not personally ask Pat Robertson but I’m sure he’d give you a thumbs up)

“Being in the military is a job. Generally it is a safe, well-paying job with very little risk.”

Sure, Joe. I’m sure these people would agree with you: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/

The thing, Joe, that you and Pat Robertson are forgetting is that Dover and San Francisco VOTED! So, it didn’t go your way! Get over it! Buy some Kleenex! In America, we put propositions on ballots, Joe, and WE THE PEOPLE vote. Isn’t that what your friends in the White House are trying to (force) achieve in Iraqi? How on earth can you hope to achieve it there when you don’t even want it here?

The bottom line is, which ever political affiliation you favor, most people in this country, by a wide margin, would say that any one who goes on the public airwaves and screams that anywhere in America should be blown up by terrorists, is a complete asshole begging for an ass kicking!

"Well, Joe, I’ve been talking with a wide variety of people about O’Reilly’s hateful comments, including my Republican friends who I have polite debates with from time to time, and so far you’re the only jack-ass I’ve heard stand up for it."

How small your world must be, to be so perfectly divided into 'Democrats' and 'Republicans'.

It is truly the hallmark of a self-centered individual to be incapable of understanding a difference of opinion. I think O'Reilly's comment is on point because it's a snide, mocking rebuke of a ridiculous position. Why should the military not be allowed to recruit at these locations?

O'Reilly isn't an elected official. He's not accountable to your taste. He's selling entertainment. Sometimes even Ray Romano says something funny.

"Sure, Joe. I’m sure these people would agree with you:"

Yours false concern doesn't move me. These adults made the decision to undertake a respectable and potentially dangerous job. That was their decision. Their deaths are tragic but do not diminish the institution they served. Firemen die in the line of duty. Policemen die in the line of duty. Are they 'brainwashed' into their career?

The people you pretend to care about were sent into a pointless war. That does not demean their service or make their commitment any more stupid than if they were on an UN 'peacekeeping mission' (we all know how successful those are) or a UN war or patrolling at peace time.

The military is the military. What you need to be faulting is the thinking and politics behind where the military are sent. You say you separate the two - all of your type say this - but you obviously don't. When you talk about the military 'tricking' and 'brainwashing' people that becomes obvious. All the track program does is train the athlete to run; where you point him is another issue.

"The thing, Joe, that you and Pat Robertson are forgetting is that Dover and San Francisco VOTED!"

So that means I can have no opinion on the issue - or any other goofy issue they vote for?

I remember a while back the 'Friscans had a measure on the ballot about giving homeless people credit card rollers so you could put donations onto your credit card.

Bunch of morons.
