And sadly, it was the only humorous part of the show.

Haven't seen the show. But this was very funny. Seems Myers is quite aware of his deer-in-the-headlight look back then..

Very Funny I watch old episodes of SNL sometimes and realize that outside of the rare great sketch it really sucks ass and always has.

Just the part of me that is a proof-reader can't help but notice: isn't his name spelt: KaNYe
(This, coming from a country/western-music-loving guy who used to spell Dwight Yoakam: Yoakum.)

Speaking of getting ahead without really trying...
I've never seen you post, Brian, without shamelessly plugging your own website. Compared to OGM, it's simply not as interesting, and the way you constantly link to it (often leading to an irrelevant page) just adds to my aversion to clicking.
I suppose that in the extremely competitive blogging world, there's little else you can to do get hits. Still doesn't make it cool...
At the very least, you could say something interesting that relates to the thread, THEN link to your site. Just my two cents.

Don't be so tough on SNL leatbabies! I agree, there are seasons where they didn't have their stuff together: but old ones around 89 to 91 were AWESOME... with Adam Sandler, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, David Spade, Mike Myers, Chris Rock etc etc. And more recently when Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sans were in the same seasons, they were good too.
But, apart from my obvious lurve of SNL, this skit was great. Just the perfect length (I'm glad they didn't try to make it into a full-on sketch though - I think that would have been too much).

Why wasn't Doyle's insightful comment on the previous SNL post credited for inspiring the posting of this clip? Any word on another Austin Powers? And where is the clip of Horatio Sans as Aaron Nevile? Doyle might warm up to him.

The reason Doyle's insightful comment, and it certainly was insightful, wasn't credited for inspiring the posting of this clip was because it didn't inspire the posting of this clip. The error in reasoning commited by Not Doyle is one of Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc and the Horatio Sans clip is not there because I didn't find it particularly amusing. It is also interesting that Doyle and Not Doyle post from the same ip address.

Had you not pointed out the IP correlation, Norm, I wouldn't have recognized it -- but I think Doyle's latest post was an attempt at some humor. I disagreed with Doyle about Horatio in the "Starie Decisis" comments, and referenced the Neville impression. This smells like some kind of bizarre self-parodying 3rd person comedy... not executed well at all, unfortunately. But now that I look at both comments, I would say that Doyle assumed that everyone else knew "Not Doyle" was actually... Doyle. It wouldn't make sense at all otherwise. No?
And I assume you're not a Neville fan, Norm? Or did it just not strike you as funny? I'll admit it cracks me up every time. I can't help but love Horatio. Different strokes, I guess!
(But yes, Post Hoc is dead on! It only makes sense that you'd put that clip up, since you posted the original West/Myers NBC appearance before. Now I'll stop typing......)
