A passing fad? Just think about Terri Schiavo, Roe v. Wade, Roberts, Bush's re-election, the attacks on evolution nationwide, the increasingly Christian U.S. military, the "bestseller" Left Behind series, abstinence programs here and around the world, - just read Esther Kaplan's "With God On Their Side". This is FAR from a passing fad. It's an insidious, growing movement with significant leaders in high government positions (or who influence politicians) who believe the Bible should be taken literally and implemented as LAW (Scalia, Bush, Frist, DeLay, Robertson, etc). They are not going to give up as easily as a "fad" - they believe we are going to hell b/c this isn't a christian nation! They believe Katrina was punishment for New Orleans depravity. Remember - red state/blue state? Yes, it's far more complex than that, but the division is real -and it is not going to just go away.

Regarding "Left-behind Series":

Hitler only lasted 12 years. Nero was soon declared an "enemy of the people," and can't Schiavo/DeLay/Katrina/Bush:"conserve"/New monkey-trial/etc./etc. be a sign that the end is near? The end of the people who think the world's end really is near?

Half of Americans are below average, I know. but doesn't the above average half have any more influence than the below average half?

And on the same subject: Manual Manuel doesn't know how to pronounce "Spanish," he has a frightful lisp.

And i don't think that ID belongs in the science class....... Faith and religion belongs in theology class and is something that is personal and should be respected. And it is....

In fact I think that Atheists, Christians,Muslims, Jewish researchers and scientist, from the present and the pass, have gone out of their way to try not to offend those of religious faiths. But facts are facts, PEOPLE OF FAITH SHOULD STOP KILLING THE MESSENGERS......

Rose's interviews of classical musicians are especially atrocious. It quickly becomes clear that he is not sufficiently knowledgeable in this area to ask probing questions, and he ends up being a fawning sycophant of the sort you see on tabloid entertainment shows.
