Michael Sprague at Philosophy of Biology discovers an old 'friend' of ours and rips him a new one in Worst Trackback Ever We too have enjoyed the Anal one in the past but soon became bored and haven't posted on him in a long time, but there is much to enjoy in the archives such as Analphilospher No Hyphen or here where Keith Burgess-Jackson comes clean and acknowledges his bullshit but then excuses it with an 'everybody does it'.
Here are a couple more interesting encounters with Anal here and here or here where he demonstrates what it is to be butt-stupid
Here is a video from the archives, Last Laugh 2004 several readers have pointed me to this video on other sites unaware that I had posted it here in December of 2004, but worth linking to since many seem to have missed it the first time around. I recently killed the category file on the different videos. When someone would load an archive it would load all the entires and with graphics it was one monster file and used a lot of bandwidth. I'm considering creating a separate page to list videos with one line descriptions to avoid the problem and at the same time provide a way to browse old videos. In the mean time if you do a search for Quicktime all videos will come up most recent first with an excerpt you should be able to find what you're looking for that way.

A 90 Part History of the British Empire
At a February 12, 2002, news briefing, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld explained the limitations of intelligence reports: "There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say, we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know." Rumsfeld's logic may be tongue-twisting, but his epistemology was sound enough that he was quoted twice at the World Summit on Evolution.

Did anyone ask for Clinton's impeachment when he let that heat wave crisis kill all those people in Californa a few years back?
Yes, Patmos, heat waves kill people--thousands died in France two years ago, I believe. And they can be dealt with, as soon as those in power begin listening to the overwhelming opinion of global climate scientists who tell us that we're suffocating our only galactic home with carbon emissions. Clinton, in fact, did indeed have some environmental policies in place that pointed in the right direction--the Bushies have reversed nearly all of them, while they have also enjoyed extended vacations as hurricanes forecast days if not weeks ahead of the moment of destruction closed in on an unprepared nation. The death toll is over a thousand now.
But you're right--perhaps we shouldn't play the blame game. After all, Bush is back at the blaming tables again--giving it to his pal Bubba for being soft on terrorism. We've got 3 more years of this, and then maybe we get Jeb as an encore. I'm going outside to stick my thumb up into the sky and hitch a ride on that spaceship where Alan Rickman is a robot dressed up as Mr. Met. It can be any worse than this.
I just read this elsewhere & wanted to share:http://www.citizensforethics.org/press/pressclip.php?view=672
Well Brian, you did everything but answer my question. And this room talks about the republican spin....
Oh and by the way... I am not a republican or a democrat, just in case you guys forgot while I was in New Orleans.
Actually, no, they didn't impeach Clinton over any crisis. They impeached him over a blowjob.
Hey Pastmos,
Maybe I am an idiot...but when those people were killed in California, it wasn't declared a state of emergency right? Therefore the federal government at that time would not have jurisdiction in this matter. It would have been the state of California. But like I said I think I am an idiot. Let me know if I am wrong.
Well Kel, this is how I see it.
What a shame it takes for either Republican or Democrat to wait for a federal disaster before they get their hands dirty (or at least sign a piece of paper)
If Clinton is (was) the man everyone thinks he is or was (however you want to look at it) he would have said... YOU KNOW WHAT!!! I wont allow this!!!! As PRESIDENT, I am going to step up to the plate....
Again, I am not a Clinton hater, or a Bush hater.... I just think if we are going to hold one accountable we should have held ALL accountable.
Hey Patmos,
I understand how you see it (feel the same way), and I believe a kick ass president would do as you suggested. =) Just wanted to answer your question.
And Kel..... I so agree!!!
Thank You
Clinton, D.L.C., Republican-lite.
Looking with a jaundiced eye: We have one party rule in this country, one party, two heads. The republican one is just the uglier of the two.
And boy is it lookin' uglier all the time.
Maybe it's a conspiracy amongst some shadowy power elite bet-hedgers, most likely not, but it would be sound psychology.
