Justice served.
The guy was just quoting...
"Go Fuck Yourself" - Mr. Cheney
He even credited the quote.
C.
Which John is Cheney referring to ?
john kerry ..
nooo, my first 1gm clip that does not work, waaaa.
Clip doesn't work..
didn't work for me either until i installed the latest quicktime update.
Yep! That worked. Thanks.
Maybe he meant Jon Stewart?
This is sad! Our government is giving the huge clean up contract to Cheney's Halliburton. Makes me wonder if somebody "up top" at Halliburton ordered a stand down on relief / governement action so that more damage could potentially be done to the area and so that the thugs that control our governement (some of Halliburton's deep, dark top level) could profit. The same shit happened on 9/11 when "stand down's" were ordered to any measure that could have stopped the 2 planes from aiming at the twin towers. They have profited: off of real estate, off of reconstruction, off of war.
I'm waiting for the next American revolution and the world will be on our side when it happens.
I dunno---it seems Dick took it well and probably admired the guy's moxie.
And you people wonder why everyone hates liberals? During tragedy you want to point fingers. How about you help out until everyone is out of harms way, then start. Come on, we have never seen this type of destruction in our Country. I agree it wasn't handled well by the Mayor, Governor, our Federal government, but lets help out before pointing fingers.
Hey TB, we're adults, we can do two things at one time.
Eddie, Somehow you couldn't run 1 presidential election to success. Give me a break Eddie, your typical smart reaction is a perfect example why liberals don't get it.
TB, Competence or incompetence was long before left and right was created. Accountability is also part of the help because there will be many other tragedies like this and no one would like to see people killed because of incompetence, left or right. Left or right, anyone that supported this incompetence up until now has its share of guilt. Not everyone hates liberals but everyone that is caught red handed hates it.
Now that's just foolish TB. Let me re-phrase it. We're ALL adults, we can do two things at one time. My efforts are not partisan. As adults we should be able to examine all sides of a situation, even the unsavory.
Aww. The link's broken now
And you people wonder why everyone hates liberals? During tragedy you want to point fingers.
Hey asshole (yes, I called you an asshole), go down a few blog entries here and watch how the Daily Show provided plenty of proof right-wingers are poiting fingers. Why, they are having an orgy of finger pointing, if you ask me. And all teh while the disingenuous bastards are claiming they refuse to "play the blame gam." That's why WE hate so many of the more loudmouthed assholes on the right wing. They are so dishonest and hypocritical it makes us laugh.
At least we hated liberals are bringing up legitimate criticisms.
TB: You want to know why so many people hate conservatives? Because in a catastrophic human disaster they first do nothing (shop for shoes, organize photo ops, eat birthday cake with John McCain) then slap each other on the back congratulating themselves on how compassionate they are while people are left in a living hell. The mentality is: "Everything that happens in the world confirms how wonderful I am, and nothing I ever do causes anyone to suffer needlessly."
What exactly does it mean that I should focus on relief efforts in instead of placing blame? Are you saying that people (like myself, who at most can give money) demanding accountability are actually taking away from the relief efforts? How? Your claim is ridiculous. If anything, the people who had the courage to say something to people like Condoleeza Rice when she was taking in broadway and shopping for shoes actually shamed her into getting back to DC and doing her job.
Now that Bush knows that Katrina isn't going to be an easy way to get a lot of nice photo-ops and play the strong compassionate leader--that he's actually going to have to produce results--maybe that will actually save people's lives. It's a lot better than some kind of post hoc whitewash like the 9-11 commission where blame is spread around universally (and very thinly), where all the powers that be will collectively agree to put the past behind them and get on with life.
When will be the time for blame? For Bush, the time is never. Before the war, during the initial stages of the war, and now in the Mission Accomplished stage, there has always been some kind of excuse why questioning and accountability have to wait.
I got into a political argument with two rednecks (very uncommon in Seattle) whose views on everything were so repugnant to me that I would have no qualms about bearing arms against them in a civil war. They were racist, willfully ignorant, misogynistic, homophobic, and completely unwilling to serve America in any way for the common good. They see this country only as a place for them to pursue their own material goals. I got all this in the course of a very short conversation.
Jesus, it never stops, does it? You Republicans are rallying around your glorious leader and to hell with everyone else. Your draft-dodging "war president" can't fight a war worth a damn and now, thru the back-slapping idiocy of appointing a big donor to a position of real responsibility, he's gone and done LOST and entire American city. No worries for the GOP, though, as it was filled mainly with COLOREDS, anyway, and they voted 78% for the wine-drinking, French Speaking, homo-loving Kerry in the last election. You remember him? Even though he's a real war hero, you thought he looked kinda faggy in that duck-hunting coat, so you voted for the stuffed-flightsuit theatrics of the duty-shirking, man-child, G.W. Bush.
He's not a real President, but he plays one on T.V., and that, apparently, is enough to earn the vote of the dim-witted.
I am struck by his creepiness every single time I see a picture or clip of him. He is truly the definition of creepy. I would never want to see his face in a dark alley.
Link broken for me. WinXP, IE 6.0.2900, Quick Time 6.5.2. Very sad.
dende blogger: You forgot the part where, after they are done vacationing, photo-opping, and patting each other on the back, they start an "investigation" to whitewash it all, and then ultimately give medals to those most culpable for the tragedy.
That's the part that kills me, and that is, I think, the most repugnant action of the administration after Katrina: they are already gearing up the whitewash. Unquestioning "believers" like TB, who would defend Hitler if he were only to speak at the RNC, are just helping them in this particularly shameful and self-serving coverup. They do Americans quite a disservice when they let their leader get away with murder. (Well, ok, negligent manslaughter if you want to nitpick).
TB, face it: your leader fucked up again, and, like usual, he and his friends would like the rest of us to not notice. If his slip up were, oh, several orders of magnitude less consequential, maybe I'd be inclined to let him off the hook. But if there's anything the last 5 years have taught us, its that he's got a tendency to fuck up rather grandiosely.
I am not so sure that old dub will get away squeaky clean on this one. I am not sure how the opinion polls look right now but, from what I see they look pretty bad for W. I use my mom as a barometer for public political opinion. She really does not follow politics and generally supports any president with the assumption that he will do what is best for America. I have watched her support for the Iraq war soar high during the invasion and falter during the ongoing insurgency. That said, it is impressive to me just how pissed at the president she is right now over the Katrina federal clusterfuck. She wants him fired - right now. She doesn't even need the "liberal media" to tell her that W is a shit stain. She says she hates him for what he does (like photo ops while people die) and what he doesn't do (like get those people help). Anyone else getting this vibe from society as a whole?
Did I hear that right? Cheney saying that it's the first time he's heard that ("Go yourself"), an expression he is quoted as using himself?
I find it shocking that he turns someone displeasure of his administration into a joke as some crazy fan of either John Kerry or Jon Stewert. Right or Left it doesn't matter if you're family is in danger, and the government you expect to come and help aren't, then they should be held accountable to some degree. These are the guys that said they would protect Americans, but judging from all the dead bodies, they aren't doing a good job.
Oh, that was beautiful.
What woman in their right mind would fuck dick'less' cheney. No-ones ever been that drunk.
doesn't work for me either :( and I downloaded the latest QuickTime. Help!
I know that cheney was going to say at the end "He's a friend of John....uh...nevermind [laughter]" John Kerry.
Actually I think he was trying to say "Patrick Leahy", the man he originally said "Go Fuck Yourself" to on the floor of the Senate (which is illegal). I'm sure Dick is tired from decorating his new mansion bought with Haliburton war profits.
I am sad to point out that according to Zogby's lastest, 41% of the American public thinks Bush handled Katrina just fine, while 59% think he didn't. That poll provided no middle ground, unlike the latest Gallup, which shows that 35% think Bush did a bang-up job, 21% have no opinion, and 44% thinks he sucks. Either poll shows much higher approval ratings than I could have imagined any sane society giving. It's pretty frigging disillusioning. I had thought even the dumbasses who voted for the moron would have to finally admit he sucks ass, at least to some degree. Frankly, I have come to the conclusion that Bush could knock a little old lady down in the street and then take a dump on her face, all on camera and while laughing about it with his buddies, and every single idiot Bush supporter in this country would either deny it ever happened, shrug it off with no opinion, or claim the woman deserved it. I give up. These idiots are incapable of either independent reason or understanding anything other than the greed or religious ferocity that shoves them along life's path. The concept of responsibility to one's neighbors and the fact that they have been hung out to dry by this administration and most of Congress is utterly beyond them.
Katie, I think those are Fox viewers. The same percentage that still think Iraq had WMD and links to Al Quaida.
Doesn't Cheney remind you of some psycho Batman bad guy? Or maybe it is Dr. Evil I am thinking about. Either way, like watching Dubya, it makes me sick and scared for the country at the same time. And did anyone notice they started spinning Bush's lack of involvement right away. Which is why the misguided Bush groupies are saying the Feds did what they should have. sheesh!
Katie... What makes you think America as a whole is sane? You guys elected the FUCKER twice. I don't need to provide anymore examples of how insane America is.
Blame Game. Blame Game. Blame Game. Blame Game. Blame Game. Blame Game. Blame Game.
see? repeat it often enough and you don't get to blame anyone.
TB:
"Come on, we have never seen this type of destruction in our Country. "
You are not very up to date on American History.
Am I the only one who pictures the "go fuck yourself" guy casually riding by on a bike?
It is clear to me that the vice president and the president, are, well, garbage, THE garbage.
It is equally clear that nobody anywhere within reach of the long arm of the law can say what should be done with it, I mean, about it.
For our own sakes, for are own freedoms, for our own sanities, we must NOT think logically. We had better be very elliptical about it, if we do. We who are not Pat (Robertson), on his side, I mean. But it sure is good to hear someone expressing themself freely!
I think Cheney is trying to imply that the heckler was drunk..."Must be a friend of John...er, uh..nevermind". "Friend of Bill" is code for Alcoholics Anonymous. Still it makes him look even more like the asshole he is.
Katie D.- Your sentiment that everyone who sees the Katrina disaster from a diffrent point of view are "dumbasses" and "idiots" is the sort of attitude that turns some people off to "liberals", it is no better than some super conservative Bush supporter calling anyone who questions the Iraq war a traitor or un-american. It seems that the far right wants to blame only the local and state govt, and the far left wants to only blame GW, when like most things, the truth is probably somewhere in between. People aren't idiots for looking at things in a different light than you do.
As far as the the yelling f-you to Chaney, that is what is wrong with American politics these days. Republicans acted down right retarded when Clinton was in office, and it got us nowhere. I remember when I was in the Navy, he would come to our base and people who considered themselves republican I guess would yell things at him all the time, and it really it embarrased me. Things like that while funny, don't really do anything to further progress in this country. He should have yelled out "why weren't rescue worked lined up, ready to go in after the levy broke"? Or why wasn't the preperation started sooner"? I'd applaud the guy then.
Don't get me wrong, Chaney is a jackass for uttering a similar if not identical phrase on the floor of congress.
Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney!
This would be the second time...
Hey mat. I think it's more likely that the guy who told CHeney to go fuck himself was a local who was pissed off at the government's help, not some liberal with a cause.
But thanks for the stupid post.
