Barbara Bush And The Lucky Refugees
Barbara Bush: Things Working Out 'Very Well' for Poor Evacuees from New Orleans
Now I wouldn't want to accuse Barbara Bush of being insensitive, but that arrogant, haughty, mother of an asshole in chief, has crossed the line. What is even worse is I'm sure she had no clue how offensive a statement this is.

"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overhwlemed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle)--this is working very well for them."—Barbara Bush

I read a comparison where Mrs. Barbara Bush was referred to a Marie Antoinette - "Let them eat cake" - just remember them there common poor French folk cut off her head... hmmmm
What a condescending beotch! Maybe she needs to go back to Maine. The Americana Royals need to have a familial rectalcraniectomy. At least now we know where Bubba Jr. gets his level of compassion.
Huurumph
You were right to emphasize that "(chuckle)", Norm. This family doesn't seem to have one decent bone in their bodies. After what this presidency and all the Bushs have done the word "compassion" will have a bad name..
OMG
The First Family is insane.
"No weapons over here hihh hihh hehh hehh hehh hehh..."
America will see what the world already knew, that these blublooded bastards are sociopaths of the highest order.
That is what Bill Maher refered to as unintentional racism the other night. Do they even realise what they are sailing?
And this notion that they are going to be successful???? That ship sailed long ago, now it is a matter of not screwing up worse.
Jsleph,
"unintentional racism" is exactly it. People like this have no idea what they are saying and have no idea how to relate to anyone outside their circle. They just have no awareness, which leads to idiotic and ignorant statements.
I actually live in the area affected by hurricane Charlie last year. The response has been night and day. I guess having a brother as the president helps quite a bit. If memory serves the aid was approved and on its way down here a day BEFORE the storm hit.
We practially had National Guard troops offering people water and food before the rain even stopped. The respones to Katrina is completally unacceptable.
I'm vary glad to see the press in the last week seemed to get its spine back and started asking some tough questions. I just hope Howard Dean rallies the troops and starts asking the tough questions of the GOP. I think the GOP should just be to OP now, there is nothing Grand about it after this disgrace.
Well, now we know where Junior gets his smarts from.
is there some other way she could have meant that. Because i cant believe shed say this in that way. I can believe she thinks it, im quite sure she does, but i dont see a first lady being so dumb as to actually say it.

CUNT
Marie Antoinette didn't have the privilege of a 24/7 psy-op that covers the entire Nation. Thus, they had her head. Remember, half the country still thinks it was Sadam that attacked us on 9/11. As it is now, the President and anyone around him can pretty much say anything they want and nothing will come of it. Only the media can save us by exposing the lies and so far, with very few exceptions (Olberman, Daily Show, blogs), it seems they just won't do that.
Barbara Bush. The roughest, toughest most ruthless of them all.
Imagine the dinner table with George, Neil and Jeb and this lunatic.
"The President, smiling at the memory, remarked: 'When Mom said 'eat you spinach' you ate it. And you liked it.'"
Uhm...she doesn't live in Maine (that's only her summer home) She actually lives in Houston.
She's always been kinda evil. Still, if we're going to whip out the guilotine, many heads will have to roll before we get to Barbara.
She's a bitch. Is that really a surprise?
Shouldn't this sort of thing argue against perpetuating this incestuous feedback loop of fame, where people are famous because they're famous because they're famous? Who on earth cares what Barbara Bush (or any first lady) thinks about anything? Does she really have any more credibility or historical importance than the Presidential barber or electrician?
Here's a far out idea: Why don't they make the news entirely full of the opinions of people who actually know what they are talking about. Barbara can get her next call for an interview the next time that it is crucially important that the citizens of the US have a first hand report of what it's like to fuck a President-- which is to say, never.
<3
well, once again we are shown just where little georgie got his values from-- isn't she cute??? she reminds me of kathy bates in stephen kings movie misery--
About what I would expect. And this is the women who raised our pres. How could he be any differnt. CPS should have taken all her kids away.
Barbara ain't that dumb!
At the suggestion of his mother, President Bush has ordered tens of thousands of evacuees in Houston transported to Anchorage where they are to be housed in igloos.
It’s uncertain as to whether or not refrigerators are to be provided.
What a bigotard.
I agree 100% with Barbara Bush.
Folks you cannot sugar coat this. The refugees in my state of Texas are really, for the most part, the bottom of the lot. They have no skills, education, or idea what to do. Many are probably eating bettter in the Astrodome than they did at home. Texas does not have a social welfare net. We are a make-your-own-way state. Texas has a population of 22 million, so we just increased our population by 1%. the black population in Texas is 9% so it has increased by over 10%. We do not need these people. All of you people need to ask yourself this: Would I want all of these people in my state?

My employer is not happy...)
wow, anonymous, you are a dick.

"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" -Barbara Bush (the war in iraq}
She is a real peach isnt she, ignorance isnt an excuse the whole family are vile, ignorant and corrupt.
Anti-american liberal rhetoric. I can never understand why you people hate america so much. Just try for once - once - not to bash everything Bush and his family does, and youll be much happier.
What is it Donovan, why would you think we would hate America because we don't like Bush and his family. We believe they are bad for our country. Are you simple-minded, seriously? Perhaps you just spout right-wing talking points without thinking about what you're saying. It isn't anti-american rhetoric it is anti-Bush rhetoric to equate the two exposes your ignorance.
I fully agree with Anonymous* (editors note: reference to person who asked name to be removed)
For years New Orleans has segregated it's black community. The hurricane has uncovered a rats nest of poor, uneducated and some times criminal people. Those people have now been driven to Texas. I hope governors around the country force, or enforce, these people to move back in about 6 months so that they can deal with their own segregation issues. For now, we will have these people in our schools, dragging down own kids and draining the resources the people of Texas have worked for. All the people in Lousianna have known about this segregation and should have to deal with it.
It is no question, the quality of life will diminish for Texans if the population we saw on TV stays. You can plan on making a donation of your car sterio within the next 6 months.
These people should be FORCED to be evenly distributed to other states (which is happening right now behind closed doors THANK YOU BUSH! THE THE LOOSER OUT OF YOUR BACK YARD.)
I am happy to help the people get where they need to go. I'm also happy we were able to help, now get the hell outa here.
i am honestly shocked at the openly racist generalisations expressed by some of you people. I am flabberghasted that the idea of black people being an ignorant and immoral race that is good for nothing but picking cotton or some such thing is still present in the 21st century. I thought you americans were supposed to be a progressive and educated bunch of people. As for Mrs. Bush's comments, she only emabarasses herself by exhibiting such narrow-minded and prejudicial ways of thinking but i do not seek to lower myself to that standard by insulting her... I wish her and her family well in life.

Only a complete ignoramus supports the Bush clan and their phoney idealistic remarks. They wouldn't know sacrifice and hardship if it bit them in the ass. Try reading the Constitution where all are created equal. Why do you think Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King and others had to step forward and enforce these basic human rights back in their days. Because someone is born poor and doesn't have the advantages of a higher education, decent work and living conditions, doesn't make them a second class citizen and have to be looked upon as such. Who's fault is it that these poor souls don't have a better life? If this happened in a third world country we'd be appalled by the actions and comments of an administration such as this one. Its every Americans responsibility to see that all of its citizens are treated with the same compassion and given the same opportunities equally no matter what color, race or creed they are. If people are lacking in the above you have government to blame, be it local, state or federal. There are way too many politicians busy stuffing money into their pockets and not doing what they were voted into office to do. Take a look at Bush's acceptance rating by the majority of the American people on all issues. Everything this administration does revolves around a buck and its the underprivileged that suffer in its wake. Whether its the hurricane victums or All the victims in the phony War for Oil going on now. Its easy to make comments about the underprivileged while you in a nice air conditioned home stuffing your face in front of the TV with all your comforts. See how you'd feel if you lost everything overnight and your pleas fell onto deaf ears. Just remember what goes around comes around.
Most definitely, and I agree totally Anonymous*(editors note: another comment that identified the one who no longer wants a name associated with the remarks) and goback after! Losing family and friends and everything you've ever known in a dying city that you once called home? These people are so much better off now in that packed stadium eating out of cans!
Yup, and by the way? These people need someplace to go (Black and White, non-color specific) so you should die, lessen the chances that our gene pool be dilluted with your stupidity. They can take your places and I'd totally be happy with that.
I'm disgusted with such arrogance and lack of sensitivity.
wow...man am i disappointed...as a foreigner living in america i am deeply saddened by what i hear and see. before i came here (for school) i really struggled with the idea of being in this country as a foreigner for 4 years (a black foreigner at that). my family is pretty much a globe trotting one...spending weeks at a time in different courtiers while my father ministers. ...and man is the world angry with america and more specifically with bush II. the fact that old mentalities from america's dark racist past still exist (and have made it to the 21st century internet) is shocking. but i will finish with this: in response to ames and goback after...this is a free...FREE nation...so that means that 'these' people can remain where they please and you cannot do a thing about it...nor can the government...your racist country has perpetuated the conditions that have now been exposed to the world. you know, as a foreigner i should let all of you know that most of the world does not think that there are actually poor, ignored americans...well, now the world can see...sad. and your attitudes fortunately are of the dying minority...turn on a switch and see that we are all humans, be we texans, americans, north americans, westerners or whatever you would like to box yourself into. 'these' people in new orleans deserved non of what they are going through...nor do they deserve to be insulted by the 'compassionate' conservatives...i laugh at such a grouping of words. oh and btw, bush's approval rating is at 40% for a certain reason...ask yourself why.... last thing...race does not make you a criminal...poverty can help make you one...but never race...go read a sociology book then write something intelligent...ok? LOL
as for me, i will follow the trend that most international students are following these days: canada, britain, russia, south africa, spain, india, amongst some other nations are sprouting universities just as good, if not better, than the ones in this great nation. america, unfortunately, is losing its mostly foreign student intellectual base (doctors, engineers, scientists) to these more tolerant nations... http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/trib/pmupdate/s273899.html http://news.zdnet.com/2100-959622-5489359.html

We are a make-your-own-way state.
Hilarious. Especially if you're born into an oil fortune, then you tend to make your own way a little farther, don't you? As for those that are, you know, underprivileged, why don't you just make it a capital crime to be unable to feed yourself, then you can get straight to the lethal injections and not have to waste time convicting them for crimes that, in many cases, they did not commit? I mean, getting rid of the public defender and disregarding the usual standards for who is competent to stand trial have worked very well for you, but a measly 30 or 40 executions a year isn't going to keep up. There's way too many of 'these people'.
Yeah, Texas sure is a model of something.
To those of you who have expressed support for my recent comments, I thank you. I am also pleased to tell you that most of the refugees from New Orleans will be out of Texas by the middle of October. Thank God for this. For those of you who read the paper in Houston; I am sure you were not the least bit surprised to learn of the 200 "foreign" (new orleans students) students who rioted and fought our Texas kids at a Houston high school. The sooner we get these savages off Texas soil the better.
(editors note: another comment by the name that must not be mentioned since said commenter's employer is not happy.)
Well, between his mother and his fellow Texans we can really appreciate how the mind of G. works. It is astounding, but not surprising, how little compassion some of you have. I suppose you are "compassionate conservatives". I suppose you also call yourselves "Christians", and you support "democracy" as long as you don't have to actually practice it in your own backyard. Pathetic!
Everything that happens is inevitable, or else it wouldn't happen. Once you figure that one out, you realise that there is nothing you can do to change the world. Then sit back and enjoy the show put on every day by the dumber 95% of the planet.
