Red State, Blue State
Dub's president it's sad but it's true
Elected not by me but by you
Come two thousand eight
We'll be clearing the slate
For we'll be the red states not blue
" what's the Good Word?" from alpha Dictionary has this to say about the word red:
Today's Good Word brings us a piquant bit of lexical irony. The color so closely associated with the Communists, who were the object of the Red-hunts by conservative Republican Senators like Joseph McCarthy and Richard Nixon in the 1950s, has recently become the color of the Republican Party itself. Red states now are not simply Communist dictatorships but also US states in which Republicans win elections. US TV networks years ago chose the color blue to represent states where Democrats win elections and red for those where the Republicans dominate. However, no one dared to refer to them as "red" states until we were sure of the disintegration of the original Red Bloc of nations.
A nice story but alas he has a few things wrong. Actually the colors alternate between the incumbent party and the challenger and come 2008 the Democratic party will once again be red.

I don't know about the Democrats turning red again when (er, if) they win again. Somehow, the red-state/blue-state thing has been ingrained in our heads the past 4 years that perhaps they'll stay that way.
The ideology of the "disintegrated" red bloc nations has effectively conqueored democracy in the United States. Give bush four more years to tighten his grip, and our country will be unrecognizable. What voice of discent will still be heard? What chance will there be for a fair election then? As we all know freedom and liberty bush style. Is freedom and liberty for the rich and powerful to plunder. Norm I hope you will look at former Attorney General Ramsey Clarks petition to impeach and hold accountable bush and his cronies. He needs four and a half million more signatures. Please help.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Bush's belief that his foreign policy is the same as the Russian Nihilists.
Michael Barone also says he wants a revolution.
Maybe the GOP should adopt the Nihilist slogan, "The worse, the better."
