Beloved Cartoon Character Comes Out of Retirement
Bithlo, Florida -- With controversy swirling around several prominent cartoon characters, the most recent incident involving the wildly popular SpongeBob Squarepants and his sidekick Patrick coming under fire from conservative Christian groups led by Dr. James Dobson the founder of Focus on the Family, claiming that they are working to promote homosexuality, an old hand at children’s entertainment has announced that he is coming out of retirement.
My favorite bit from the latest Zogby Poll
The poll finds a higher percentage of Americans saying that they are ashamed that Mr. Bush is their president; three-in-ten (31%) Americans now hold that view, as compared to one-in-four (26%) a month ago.
Focus: The search for the lost library of Rome
Down a side street in the seedy Italian town of Ercolano, wafted by the scent of uncollected rubbish and the fumes of passing motor-scooters, lies a waterlogged hole. A track leads from it to a high fence and a locked gate. Dogs defecate in the undergrowth where addicts discard their needles.
U.S. bullied Canada on missile defence, paper says
U.S. President George W. Bush tried to bully Canadian officials on missile defence during his recent visit by linking Ottawa's participation to future protection, The Washington Post reported yesterday. The newspaper quoted an unidentified Canadian official who was in the room as saying that Mr. Bush waved off attempts to explain how contentious the issue is for Prime Minister Paul Martin's minority government.
The President "leaned across the table and said: 'I'm not taking this position, but some future president is going to say, Why are we paying to defend Canada?' " the official was quoted as saying.
"Most of our side was trying to explain the politics, how it was difficult to do," he said. But Mr. Bush "waved his hands and remarked: 'I don't understand this. Are you saying that if you got up and said this is necessary for the defence of Canada, it wouldn't be accepted?

no , not without proof that it works and that there is an actual threat. not around here anyways , might work with the inbreds out west, but that shit doesn t fly with the canada that matters (usually east of SK. is good).
Guest what Mister Bush ? Our country is not based on fear and terror. We don't need a patriot act and your missile defense.
You could annex Alberta if you whant, but the rest of my country will never be on his knee to satisfy you !!!
We declare an embargo on softcore totalitarism.
Proud Canadian !
Renecks west of Saskatchewan? Maybe there's some cowboys in Calgary but if you're calling Vancouver a redneck city, I'll have to laugh for a while.
Deference to politicians/authority is one American cultural trend that I've never quite understood. Perhaps it's a result of the lack of any historical monarchy down there. The concept of King George II and Queen Laura are somehow psychologically desirable... So, maybe having (had) a queen is of some use after all?
sorry Bush your missile defence will never fly north of the border....get it fly haha...
