I've Got Nowhere Else to Go
Brad Zeller writes:
I have to confess that the election, coupled with the rolling back of the clock and the onslaught of early darkness, almost killed me...I think I'm done with that now. So: Fuck Wolf Blitzer and his bullshit beard, that phony summerstock motherfucker. Fuck that hatchet-faced old dusty moth Larry King with his suspenders and hunched adoration of celebrity and power. Fuck Anderson Cooper, that pasty gray, smarty-pants munchkin of privilege. Fuck that feral, soup-sucking swine Dennis Hastert. Fuck Dan Rather's barber. And fuck the whole erectile dysfunction industry.
He then segues, clever fellow Brad, into a list of 100 greatest songs of all time claiming his off the cuff list, a list that simply rolled off the top of his head compares favorably with the "lazy, predictable, and myopic" list Rolling Stone compiled. Does it matter how we deal with bad news. Is Brad's method as good as anything else? Is it better? I don't know the answer, but I like posing the question.

Okay, Norm, this comment is really off topic, so go ahead and delete it.
Get out of your postelection funk and cheer yourself up by posting a few merry comments on the recent Anal-Philosopher/Crooked-Timber contretemps. You know you want to, and we want to see you bare your fangs and sup on that tasty red meat. Do as Willard says and TEAR HIM UP!
It's hard to know how best to respond to political defeat. On the one hand it may not have much direct, immediate effect on you and you are watching it on TV. On the other hand, the long term consequences are grave indeed and people are going to kill and be killed because of an election.
But soldiers in war deal with the death of friends, horrible moral errors, and the suffering of innocents quite frequently. The good ones respond by continuing to do their job. The left needs to realize that the political world in which we live is red in tooth and nail. Our existence, let alone the existence of our ideas, is by no means guaranteed. We have to fight for it; neither history nor 'the facts' are going to redeem us in the end.
Oh no, hoopla...you soooo bad. You should get off your post-postelection funk and cheer yourself up by going to muppets.com or http://pbskids.org/boohbah/boohbah.html
Anyways, I support what Norm has to say or quote. I enjoy reading it. He only offers his rebuttal on whats going on and what people are/were thinking. If you don't like it hoopla, just continue on neglecting that there is a "past" and that "history" means nothing...and possibly...take a spoon and scrape out what is left of your brain just so you have no thought and that you will uphold these "moral values" that America has 'grasped' onto lately.
What! Santorum's surrogate, anal philosopher, is still at it. I haven't visited him in a long time and have also neglected to visit our good friends at Crooked Timber. I just took a quick peek and it looks like they're having a good time. Thanks for the heads up.
What a bitter, angry person. I will help you to move out of the USA.. Are you interested??
Get out please with your vile tongue.
Yo Claudia... whose 'vile toungue' are you referring to? I don't get it.
