I think the plan is excellent. Whether or not Pelosi, et al, follow such a course, remains to be seen. This morning, the talking head shows were full of crap about how the problems with the Dems is what they stand for (I caught a snippet of the vile Brit Hume, so take that with a small Siberian Salt Mine).
Very good advice, I think--someone on the DNC, hire that guy! A general theme that I agree with is that for the Democrats to come back, they have to beat Bush in some battle. That may sound simple, but for over a year now they have rather been playing not to lose. If they would have taken an internationalist stand against Bush's preemptive strike/go-it-alone-on-Iraq manifestos, then they would have had most of America on their side. Moreover, if Bush still would have gone ahead and engaged in vigorous negotiation in the UN, then the Dems could have cliamed some victory, saying that Bush gave in somewhat to their side. Now, Bush looks gracious since he first got a blank check from the Democrats but then still went to the UN to cash it.
